The People Speak Soundtrack CD

$14.50

For our soundtrack album, Bob Dylan, joined by Ry Cooder and Van Dyke Parks, beautifully renders Woody Gurthrie's dustbowl ballad "Do Re Mi." John Legend revisits Marvin Gaye's "What's Going On". Eddie Vedder reminds us of the power of Bob Dylan's "Masters of War," while Rich Robinson explores his song "Only a Pawn in Their Game." Jackson Browne reminds us of the persistence of these concerns in "Drums of War." While Randy Newman digs deep into our history in his classic "Sail Away." Pink speaks her own mind in her eloquent song "Dear Mr. President" Lupe Fiasco also contributes an original composition, "American Terrorist." As do Exene Cerveka and Joe Doe, who ask us to "See How We Are," and Taj Mahal who offers up "Blues with a Feeling." Bruce Spingsteen sings his John Steinbeck-inspired "The Ghost of Tom Joad." And Allison Moorer performs Yip Harburg's "Brother, Can You Spare a Dime?" a song with new relevance to the current economic crisis.

We hope these songs will inspire you to speak -- and sing -- out, as well.
